In July 2022, Dr Rachel Brown published her first book, Metabolic Madness. This groundbreaking exploration delves into how metabolic dysfunction and gut health are at the core of many mental health and neurological disorders.
The book presents compelling scientific evidence that reveals the profound connection between metabolism, brain health, and mental wellbeing.
It elucidates why ketogenic diets can be particularly effective in restoring brain function, enhancing mood, and reducing neuroinflammation, while also addressing the common challenges individuals encounter when adopting this dietary approach.
Notably, one of the initial chapters is dedicated to gut health. The gut–brain-axis is crucial for mental health, and through her clinical experience, Dr Rachel has repeatedly observed how addressing gut inflammation not only alleviates IBD flares but also alleviates symptoms of depression, anxiety, brain fog, and fatigue.
